Home Coming - A Celebration of Life!

For those of you who knew and loved Mitchell Pierre Douglas, you knew that he could light up a room when he entered, just as he could leave everyone in the room speechless as he exited. “Pierre” had a great big personality, was a lover, and a fighter at the same time.

He was our brother, father, son, grandson, friend, and was large hearted by nature. He left us way too soon.

A Little About Pierre:

Pierre was born and raised in Minneapolis, MN. Pierre was the loving father of 5 small children, two of which was blessed to him by God. He is our brother, and we are already battling in our hearts and minds to heal. Like his heart, Pierre was a large man. He was tall, handsome, and loved to read anything pertaining to the sciences. After losing our mother, I would argue that Pierre was never the same again. But, having been raised under her tender love and care, he knew all too well what strength looked like, sounded like, and felt like. He loved to laugh, smile, tells stories, and tell them with an energy that would light up a room. We are going to miss him from now, until we meet again.

His Life:

Pierre lived a rough life! He experienced things in life that no mother, sister, father or brother would want to see their immediate loved one experience. However, none of those experiences took his life. I remember him saying when mom died, “I don’t want to be here anymore!” He got through that, and was still going through it. Losing our mother, many of us thought for sure her death would take a near death toll on Pierre. However, beating those odd, we lost him to the Coronavirus.

The year 2020 has been tough to say the least. The Coronavirus, the world in unrest, and now my brother, OUR brother, my nieces and nephew’s father. We do not know how to feel, but what we do feel is this:

Pierre traveled to Colorado and will never return to Minnesota again.
We want his children by our side.
We want him here with us!
We want him to be remembered for who he was, and not as the 35-year-old year old black man who was suddenly extracted from this earth due to the Coronavirus.
Pierre was born and raised in Minnesota, and this is his home – we need to have him home!

We are asking for your support in raising $5000.00 to lay Pierre to rest. While we are able to cover some of the cost for the children to get here, we cannot do this on our own, and are counting on the community to help us with the various expenses.
