Dorian's WLS Procedure- 2 Days!!!!

Greetings! The fact that you have clicked the link to learn about my story and hopefully support me is a true blessing. My name is Dorian and I have been on a journey to weight loss surgery for about 13 months now. My surgery is scheduled for May 13th, 2014 and my pre-op appointment is scheduled for May 9th, 2014. I was approved medically due to my health issues (hypertension, obstructive sleep apnea, and border line diabetes) related to the weight. Insurance approval has finally been completed; however, they are asking for 50% of the portion that my insurance is not covering. They need this amount on or before May 9th (pre-op appointment). If this amount is not received the procedure will be cancelled until I can come up with this amount. As we all know, to ask for $3,000 dollars 9 days prior to the due date is extremely challenging in this economy. Here is a little of my story... I had to endure many years of excessive weight gain without ever figuring out why the gain was so rapid and excessive. There were numerous doctor visits, large amounts of money paid, and many shoulder shrugs before getting down to a solution. I am grateful for a physician that was able to find a solution and get down to the root of the problem. After nine consecutive months of dieting, cardio, and testing and only a loss of 7 lbs. we are finally able to come down to a solution. During an ultrasound it was discovered that my stomach (physical organ) was 35% bigger than it should be; this meaning that even with a rigorous workout and diet regimen I would still have the feeling of hunger for the rest of my life. This surgery is not a want...it is a NEED! The medical insurance office is giving me until May 9th to have at least half of the balance due ($2,777.90 of $5,549.81) or the surgery will be cancelled. I have already received FMLA coverage and time off from work and need for this procedure to take time during that timeframe. It is been my desire to gain back control of my health and life.
