Chance of a Lifetime

Hi, my name is Toby, and I would like to take my 10 year old daughter to the IOGKF (Karate) World Budosai in Okinawa in 2024. We both have achieved our green belts so far, within an amazing community of kids, teens and adults that comprise the dojo. There is a group of us planning to attend. Though I have been saving for this event (I am a housecleaner and full time mum) it has been difficult, as prices for everything have skyrocketed. It is my hope to raise enough funds to cover our travel expenses and contribute to the travel expenses of other members of the dojo, namely the students who also have to save money for school.

At first I had much trepidation to post on this platform, considering the crises of health and misfortune that folks are experiencing. Life is difficult in many ways, for us included. Participating in the art of Karate has provided myself and my daughter with a much needed center of focus, balance, strength and hope, amongst a group of amazing people, mostly teens, under the kind guidance of an incredible community leader. We strive in every class to get stronger, to encourage each other and support each other. It works, and I am profoundly grateful.

That is what makes this a worthy cause, so I decided to give fundraising a chance to help us all out.
