my name is lexi, i am 11 years old. i have loved playing football since the age of five. i played with a grass roots team called southwark caribb in peckham, london for 4 years with me being the only girl. this was hard in the beginning to fit in as the boys wouldn't pass the ball to me because i was a girl , but in the end the team of boys ended up loving me, and i captained that team to win the league in the season 2011/2012.
last year i was scouted by an arsenal and tottenham scout and following a successful 3 stage trial , i was offered a place in the under 11 team at arsenal ladies centre of excellence on 25th june. this was a dream come true for me bring entered into the worlds best ladies football team. i was then chosen to tour with my team mates this year visiting lyon, where i scoured 3 amazing goals.
it was a huge decision for the family to let me pursue this, as the travelling costs throughout the year put a great strain on us all, however with the help of a grant from the women's sports trust i was able to complete the season. this trust sadly does not do ongoing sponsors and cannot help towards the new seasons cost this year.
i have now been offered an automatic place on the under 13 team this season and when my mum explained that i may not be able to complete this season, i asked her if there was any way of me helping to raise the money, maybe with sponsored games or boot sales with my old toys. we are certainly going to try this. a close friend recently recommended this site to ask for donors in the hope that i can get any help i can towards my travelling costs so i can continue my dream. the annual costs are around £4.000 which includes travel to and from training plus travel to and from matches, some as far as birmingham. my nan has promised to buy any boots and shin pads i might need so that's good :) please help me , to help my mum to keep being able for me to fulfil my dreams and make it possible for me to one day play for england.
