-My teaching supplies and materials for the classroom.
-Transportation, rent, and food costs for the entire year.
-One year of schooling for a 2nd grade class in Georgetown, Guyana.

I'm fundraising just over $1500 for my upcoming volunteer year in South America. Since graduating from college in 2010, I have been on a whirlwind journey around the globe on multiple volunteer adventures. Just two weeks after completing my degree, I flew to Nome, Alaska where I worked at a non-profit radio station that services the troubled population of rural Alaska. Since then, I've been to Kenya, Uganda, Hawaii, and East Saint Louis, IL volunteering my time at orphanages, inner-city schools, and non-profit organizations.
With more than four years of volunteering under my belt, and this wonderful upcoming adventure on the horizon, I'm a bit strapped for cash since I have yet to receive an actual paycheck...ever...in my life. But alas, I'm not doing any of this for the money, I'm doing it for the experience of helping out the kids in Georgetown, Guyana!
For the year, I'll be living with three other volunteers and working full time at an orphanage and a small school for orphan boys. The program cost for the entire year I will be in South America is $10,000; however, I only have to fundraise a fraction of that amount. It is a sum of money I am required to fundraise, and would pay for entirely on my own, except that I currently do not make any money, since I'm a full-time volunteer.
I'm asking for any donation you are able to make, big or small, each penny will help ease the burden and assist me in getting one step closer to my goal of living in South America for one full calendar year.
