In the last few months the family of Rocco G Buchetto Jr learned that their beloved son, husband, father, grandfather, brother, and uncle is in need of a full liver transplant. This otherwise healthy 65 year old man who should be enjoying his recent retirement from The Stamford Fire Dept is now faced with a complicated surgery which will determine his survival.
Rocky is a veteran of The US Airforce and was honorably discharged from active duty in 1972. Shortly there after he began and ended a 34 year career at Headquarters, working in between for Engine 3 on the West Side and Engine 4 in Shippan as a Stamford fire fighter.
Rocky has always maintained two jobs, and his work ethic was driven by his determination to be a supportive husband to his wife Karen of 40 years and their two children Rocco and Erika. He is also a 3rd Degree Knight of The Knights Of Columbus who give generously to various foundations and charities.
In the last three years Rocky has undergone extensive testing and treatments for his liver, unfortunately due to the placement of his tumor the treatments were unsuccessful and his final option is a full liver transplant. This is a complex procedure followed by a lengthy recovery time.
There is an exorbitant amount of expenses beyond his insurance coverage. Rocky and Karen will also have to uproot and find an apartment for a period of time in proximity to the hospital. For a man who has dedicated his life to helping and saving others, we as a family are now asking for help to carry his burden. We would greatly appreciate any support possible, being financial or through prayer.
Please keep Rocky in your thoughts through this difficult time.
