Help for Heather

Donation protected
I am raising money for my sister Heather who was recently diagnosed with stage three breast cancer. I've heard Heather described as one of those people who can't seem to catch a break in life. She spent much of her childhood in hospitals because of her chronic asthma, was on life support four times and went into respiratory arrest more than once. It took her six years to get through high school because of her asthma and hospitalizations yet she's so intelligent, she graduated with honors and fifth in her class. Heather had aspirations of becoming a nurse. She was accepted to the UCONN School of Nursing, but again her asthma held her back. She had to drop out of nursing school because of how bad and frequent her asthma flare-ups got. Next came ten years of marriage and two beautiful girls but sadly the marriage ended in divorce and subsequent financial ruin. The April 2014 diagnosis of breast cancer is the latest blow Heather has suffered in her life. However, despite all she has been through in her short 41 years, Heather has never once lost her faith in her God and Savior. Her ability to find positivity in every situation, to find the silver lining in every cloud inspires me every single day. The things she has endured in life have made her a determined fighter and I know she will beat cancer! However, the chemotherapy regimen she's having is one of THE most aggressive regimens in existence and she has had to stop working because of how the chemo makes her feel. Shockingly, Heather doesn't qualify for any assistance including disability. As a result, she has no money coming in to pay her mortgage. We have a very supportive church family who has helped Heather numerous times since her divorce with money for bills, groceries, etc. There has also been a lot of help from immediate family throughout the years, as that is what family does. Much of the help, whether family or church body has been anonymous, which in my opinion is the best way to give. I'm trying to raise $5,000 to help Heather make her mortgage payments over the first three months she's having chemotherapy. Her chemo will last longer than three months but this $5,000 will cover about the first twelve weeks of chemo (three mortgage payments plus a little extra to help with food for her and her two girls.) Any amount you could help with is so appreciated, whether $5.00 or $50.00, $10.00 or $1,000! It all adds up to encouragement and peace of mind to my beautiful sister who has just begun to wage war on breast cancer! I pray God blesses everyone who reads Heather's story, whether you're able to give or not! Thank you all so much!
