Medical Supplies for Cavan

Less than two years ago our son Cavan was in his senior year of college. Attending SUU in Cedar City, he was hoping to graduate with two bachelor's degrees and working towards joining the Armed Forces once he graduated. He dreamed of becoming a doctor and was very determined to obtain his goal when tragedy struck. Due to an unfortunate accident, he broke his neck at the C-5 vertebrae and is now a quadriplegic. He was a very active young man and one of the most difficult adjustments he's had to make, through all that he's endured, is his lack of movement.
For his physical health and his mental health as well, stimulation of his lower extremities is vital. The FES (Functional Electric Stimulation) bike sends electrical currents directly into his muscle and forces a contraction, which allows his legs to move and powers the bike. This movement keeps his muscles, lungs, bones, heart, and his circulation healthy.
To obtain an FES bike takes $23,000. And insurance will not help us pay for any of the purchase. We are asking for any size contribution to assist us in purchasing one of these bikes for him.
