Fundraiser GOALS For Cheryl White Is To Create A Permanent Memorial & Foundation

Thank you everyone for your support throughout this tough time for all of us who love Cheryl.  Now that our minds have cleared a little, we have a better vision of what we would like to do to remember and honor Cheryl.

The goal has always been to have her legacy be remembered, as well as have a lasting impact on future generations. After our service for Cheryl, the balance of funds and any future donations for her will be put towards creating a Memorial & Foundation in her memory.

We would like to create, a permanent memorial in honor of Cheryl White. In addition, the goal would be to also create a foundation to help inspire, and introduce horses, horse racing, riding, and other aspects of the industry to children.

The focus would be towards those children who are underprivileged and at risk. However, this would be open to and include ALL children no matter their background.

We are certainly open to ideas from all of you. Collaboration is very welcome.

We will announce the official time and place in the next couple days. Again, thank you for your support, love, and compassion throughout this time.

Memorial & Celebration Of CHERYL WHITE'S LIFE FUNDRAISER

Our lives changed forever for all of us when Cheryl passed away. Below are many photos and a recording that my son Raymond III and I did about Cheryl.

My son, Raymond III, and I were invited by Story Corps www.storycorps.org to have a 40 minute conversation between he and I about Cheryl. This was to tell who she was, and detail her legacy as the 1st Black Female Jockey in history.
The link to that initial 40 minute recording is here: Cheryl White recording by brother & nephew. http://bit.ly/2zdEpfF-Cheryl-White

This recording will be documented and stored in The Library of Congress & The Smithsonian for future generations to hear and listen to.
We wanted to share that conversation with all of you, her friends who have made her life so rich.

CHERYL WHITE / Memorial & Celebration of Life Party FUNDRAISER

All of you who knew my sister know how much she loved a party!! Especially with Red Solo cups, LOL.

Whether it was a Super Bowl party (her favorite by the way), a family get together grilling steaks, hotdogs, or hamburgers, The Preakness week parties, or the many off the cuff "hey let's do something".

Cheryl was always ready to have a good time. We want to have a Celebration of her Life and Memorial that is  befitting of Cheryl.

Yes, this is a sad time, I have cried, laughed, gotten angry (LOL, I do have the same temper as my sister, just more controlled), but we know that Cheryl is a one of a kind and they broke the mold after they made her.

So, in honor of Cheryl, we ambitiously would love to have a Party/Memorial to Celebrate her life like she deserves!!

We want to try and coordinate this Memorial for Cheryl so that everybody has enough advance notice to give them time to make plans to attend.  All donations will go toward this event.

We thank the many of you donated to the previous Fundraiser when Cheryl was sick, and those funds will be added and used towards this event. So, if you have donated to the previous GoFundMe thank you for supporting Cheryl and being there for her.

Cheryl White UPDATE:

Cheryl White has passed away. We are extremely saddened and heartbroken beyond comprehension to have lost Cheryl. She passed away in the middle of the night on Friday 09/20/19, and has been taken home by God to join our Mother and Father, Doris and Raymond White Sr.

Cheryl was many things to many people, but as genuine and unfiltered as anyone could be. She could be opinionated, and brash, as well as caring, compassionate, and thoughtful. She will be greatly missed by all of us, family and friends. The outpouring of love and support that she received throughout this illness was unlike anything I have ever witnessed. Thank you so much to all of you who loved her so much.

There will be more to follow in the next few days as we update everyone on our plans, date, and time for a memorial to honor and celebrate the life of our beloved Cheryl. Again, thank all of you from the bottom of our hearts for your love and support for Cheryl, and our entire family.
