The Crocker Girls Educational Fund

Much too soon, the Lord has called home one of his angels. Tami Nichole Poole Crocker peacefully departed this life on Saturday, April 19, 2014, at the age of 44, after a courageous nine month battle with cancer.

Tami's cancer was one of the rarest; leiomyosarcoma. After an ER visit due to pain she thought was a bladder infection Tami found out she was in 4th stage of the disease. We all thought she was going to win the fight against all odds. She had plans to see her children graduate junior high, high school, meet her first grandchild...

Tami was a dedicated and deeply loving mother who was always present for her children.  She supported her children's educational and athletic endeavors; never missing a school event, football game or gymnastics competition, even towards the end of her fight when it became painful for her to sit or walk. And in her last months when she was in too much pain to attend  Morgan's basketball games and Giordan's gymnastics events, Tami supported them in spirit, and her presence was always felt.

Tami was a role model for her daughters, she enjoyed listening to there music, even when she didn't entirely understand it. Recently, Morgan had to write a paper for school about a superhero. Morgan chose to write about her mom.

Tami was an active volunteer at Linwood Holton Elementary School throughout the years her children attended. She coordinated Picture Day for years; chaperoned many field trips, and had an affinity for working with parents and children. Tami's was alway dedicated to her children endeavors encouraging their enthusiasm for education.

Tami was a graduate of Hamden High School in Hamden, CT, and Temple University in Philadelphia, PA. She had a successful career in finance and stressed the importance of continuing educaton to her children.

Tami was one of the strongest, kindest, most loving women you could ever meet. She radiated gentle strength her entire life, and had an impact on all she met. She continued to do all the "heavy lifting" for her family in spite of the extreme pain she endured, for months. She was the general, and kept her family, and the girls activities, running smoothly throughout her brave fight.

We ask that you support Tami's dream for her children by donating whatever your heart allows towards their education.

We thank you for your love and support.
