Teri's Breast Cancer Fund

Donation protected
Teri Murphy (George) was just 12 years old, living in North Ridgeville, Ohio when she lost her mother to breast cancer. Now at 54, she too is battling breast cancer. Teri was born and raised in Lorain County and any of you who know Teri know that she has "Paid it Forward" many times over. She is always willing to help those around her. She is an amazingly supportive wife, mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, cousin, and friend. She has been there for many of us through the years and now it is time to show her our support.

On December 18th, 2013, with family history not on her side, Teri was diagnosed with an aggressive form of breast cancer. Over the past four months, she has undergone numerous tests, a double mastectomy, and weekly chemotherapy (every third week is four hours' worth of three different chemo drugs). Although necessary, these drugs have many side effects that have affected Teri's normal life "“ increased probability of infection, hair loss, low energy level, mouth and throat sores, nausea, neuropathy, taste and smell changes, and vomiting, to name a few. She will have to endure these side effects for the next year as her chemotherapy schedule continues. Even though it has taken a toll on her body, her spirit has been strong. She has fought, like she always does:with a smile on her face.

Her doctors have a plan and we are optimistic, so Teri does not let the fear paralyze her. During this time, Teri is unable to work, and the medical bills are starting to add up. Since Teri would never do this herself, we are taking up the task to raise money for her. Our goal is to try to raise $12,000 to help pay for medical bills and day-to-day necessities.

We all know that money cannot ease her pain, but when financial burdens are not of concern; Teri will be able to focus on healing. This money can help to pay for not only medical expenses, but also for lost wages. The road ahead will be a long one for Teri and her husband Willy, so any monetary support will go toward paying off medical bills, doctor visits, MRIs, PET scans, biopsies, lab work, weekly chemotherapy, medications, etc.

Please donate. Any amount at all would be greatly appreciated! You can donate anonymously if you prefer. If you cannot provide monetary support, then please support Teri and her family by keeping her in your thoughts and prayers.

And please share this website with all of your social media friends on Facebook, Twitter, Pinterest, Google+, etc.

THANK YOU!!!
