Fight for Time: Sandra Carrasquillo

Sandra was diagnosed with Stage 4, Adenocarcinoma (Lung Cancer) on December 1st, 2019. Additionally, she was diagnosed with cancer in her lymph nodes in her trachea (5 tumors). If this wasn't bad enough, the final biopsy revealed that she has multiple tumors in her liver, hence adding cancer in the liver to her diagnoses. To make matters worse, approximately two years ago, Sandra was diagnosed with Lupus (auto immune disease). As a result of the Lupus, she was diagnosed with Interstitial Lung Disease (inner scarring of her lungs) which decreases her ability to breathe. The Lupus also caused her to have Rheumatoid Arthritis, to which causes her to have severe joint pain and constant fatigue.
Having Lupus will complicate Sandra's ability to combat her cancer, due to the fact that her doctors advised her they would not be able to surgically remove any of her existing tumors. This is due to the complexity of having cancer along with an auto immune disease. Sandra is then left with treating her cancer with chemotherapy, radiation, and alternative medicine. Our research has shown that the use of alternative medicine, although effective in treating cancer, can be very costly and is not usually covered by medical insurance. Due to Sandra's severity and in hopes of saving her life, a strong emphasis on alternative medicine has risen to the top of the list in her fight for her life.
Sandra is currently in the process of requesting her cancer treatment through City of Hope, which is known to render the best chances of beating cancer. City of Hope facilitates various modalities for treating cancer, administered by some of the best physicians in the nation as it regards treating cancer. Research has been conducted on centers that specialize in alternative medicine, and through credible recommendations the Nevada Center of Alternative Medicine has been suggested. Being that Sandra resides in Southern California, travel arrangements coupled with the cost of the actual treatments would have to be made. This being said the need to raise money for the already known, unexpected cost of battling cancer only intensifies by using non-modern medicine modalities that have been proven to be effective on the fight against cancer to which we know are extremely costly and which are not covered by insurances.
To all of you who've already graciously donated the most precious thing that we as humans possess "Time", we ask one more thing, the imposition of donating from the emotion inside of your heart that through your monetary gift of love, it could very well give Sandra more precious time. Time with her family. Time with her friends. And time with her unborn grandchildren. Nobody in this world deserves to have the agony of having cancer or the pain of seeing their loved ones witness their relative dying before their very eyes. The one thing they do deserve, simply put, "Time". So please, I beg of you, help my mother Sandra with gaining time, so that she can one day kiss and hug my children.
