Paige's Study Abroad: Dominican Republic
Donation protected
Hi! My name is Paige Webb and I am a rising junior at Spelman College in Atlanta, GA and my major is Spanish/Pre-Dentistry.
One of my passions has always been to help those in need. God tells us that whatever you do for the least of these, you do for him. This has been a part of my life since I can remember. I remember when I was a small child, my Granny would take my brother Gary and I to feed the hungry/homeless. I will never forget the smiles on their faces. After losing my brother Gary, our family started The Gary Foundation to help less fortunate children and their families during the Christmas Holiday Season. The appreciative smiles on their faces made all the difference. Since that time, I have made "putting smiles on faces" a part of my life's destiny. And I have seen many smiles since that time.
I am so grateful that I have recently been selected to participate in the CIEE Liberal Arts study abroad program in Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic for Fall Semester 2014. I chose this particular program because along with continuing my study, improving my knowledge of the Spanish language and culture, I will have the opportunity to continue "putting smiles on faces" by helping at-risk boys and girls at the Fundación Abriendo Camino Center in Santo Domingo.
I am so thankful to God that the majority of funds needed have already been provided. However, in order to make this mission possible, I NEED YOUR SUPPORT by July 15th, 2014! These funds will cover airfare, housing, transportation, food, books, school supplies, etc. Your prayers and ANY donation that you are able to give will be greatly appreciated.
My goal in life is to graduate from Spelman College with a degree in Spanish, complete dental school, become a dentist, and continue "putting smiles on faces" both in work and in service!
Thank you for your support!!!
