Help Uzezi Stay in School

Hi, my name is Uzezi Obahor. I am an international student from Nigeria studying Health Psychology at Carleton University. I have currently missed a semester (Fall 2021 semester) due to the fact that I owe 20,831 CAD. My mum, who is a single mother has supported me from my first year till now.  This school year, being the most crucial part of my university education (because it would’ve been my final year) has been difficult due to Covid and extreme times. I was able to take a leave of absence to preserve the validity of my study permit but I am unable to take another leave of absence as I am allowed to take for only one semester. I’ve reached a point where I have to be in school for the Winter 2022 Semester else leave Canada which is why I need all the support I can get to enable me stay in school and finish my degree. For me to be in school, I would have to pay off what I’m owing ($20,831 CAD) and pay my winter fees which is approximately $14,000 CAD. 

I also plan to take summer courses to make up for the lost fall semester which is approximately $12,000 CAD. The total I’m asking for is $46,831.  I know I am asking for a lot. It’s been very difficult for me and my family and I’m hoping for the best. I would appreciate all the help and support I can get even if it’s by sharing for awareness and little contributions. These would mean a lot. I would be counting on your financial support, words of encouragement and prayers during this tough period of my life as this Gofundme might be the only solution left to salvage this whole situation.
