Jesse. Gee broken foot

My name is Jesse Gee.  My wife Dawn and I live Kapuskasing ON. We have both always worked.  Dawn lost her 20 year job because of government cutbacks. As a result she did not receive any severance or pension as she was on contract , year to year. She has a part time job now that she loves. Last August I tripped over my two foster cats and broke my foot in 4 places. I was supposed to go back to work the next day. After I went to the fracture clinic, I was told I would be in a cast for 5 months. I almost cried. I had started a new job in June and now could not work. I started receiving sick benefits, but they ran out in November. I have had no income since then.  My foot is not completely healed yet. I cannot stand for extended periods of time. We have applied for social assistance and were denied. We cashed  in what little RRSP we had and payed our rent 2 months in advance. Our rent is due 2 weeks ago and we are sinking. I always took pride in not having to ask for help. It has taken me 2 weeks to write this and still not believing it. Anything at all would help us until we can get back on our feet.
