Help Fund Brooke's Medical Conference

Hi! I'm Brooke Adams. I am a freshman in high school and was recently accepted into the program of my dreams - a 10 day Medicine and Healthcare immersion program this summer at American University in Washington, D.C. through the National Student Leadership Conference. This program costs $4,300 in total, and I financed nearly $800 of it so far; but, the impending deadline on June 15th is approaching and without the funding I cannot attend.

If I were able to attend, my session at AU would build a foundation for my dream of becoming a surgeon. It focuses on teaching not just the fundamentals of medicine and healthcare, but also surgery and the way we can use it to help people in our community. It is a personal goal of mine to pursue a surgical career especially as a woman because it is a primarily male dominated field.

By choosing surgery as my career path it is important for me to go to this conference because reaching difficult goals is an important skill in this specialty. I will be participating in surgical rounds, learning how to suture, be given a healthcare crises to solve, all while living on the AU campus. As an added bonus I will also get to see a few sites in Washington D.C. while I am there.

With your help and contribution, I am confident that this is my first step on the road to success. Thank you so much for your consideration and support. Once my goal has been met I will share with my supporters a video of myself singing a song from one of my favorite shows, Grey's Anatomy, as a way of showing my appreciation.
