Mission Trip to South Africa

Dear Friends and Family:
This summer, I will be embarking on a trip to South Africa (July 30-August 12) with a missionary team from my church, Bel Air Presbyterian Church. We will be serving with Maranatha Church for 2 weeks.
I am extremely humbled by this opportunity - I do not take it lightly. This is an opportunity for me to grow as a person, share my faith, and help others. For quite a while now, it has been my heart's desire to serve in another country, yet despite my prayers, doors kept closing and it was blatantly not the right timing. I've been debating what I should do after graduating from college, and I couldn't think of a better way to start my next chapter in life than embarking on a trip that will forever change my life and help me give back to the world.
While we are in South Africa, we will spend the first part of the trip with Maranatha in the Johannesburg suburb, Kempton Park, seeing and participating in the ministry Maranatha Church is involved in there. Then we will travel to the Zulu community of Embo, where we will engage the deep poverty, persistence of HIV, and need for the Gospel that continues to cry for the love and attention of Christ. I am really excited to see what God will teach me through this experience and to see how God will use me, too!
I would really appreciate your prayers for God to keep my team and I safe, for God to provide the funds for me to go on this mission trip, and for HIS will to be done on this mission trip.
Would you please consider supporting me financially, too? Each person on our team needs to raise approximately $2,700 to cover: airfare, lodging, meals, and transportation.

I somehow know that this mission trip will impact my life and the ways I see and value things. I will learn a lot and will be challenged in many ways. I also hope that I will be able to serve and encourage the people of South Africa to love God and serve Him.
