Creation Sensations to DI Globals '14!
Donation protected
Roland Park Elementary School has a remarkable Destination ImagiNation (DI) team of five 2nd and 3rd graders called the Creation Sensations. The team formed in the beginning of the school year, but no one expected them to go very far. After all, it was a new team, they were very young, and this was their first time competing in DI. Yet, at the Maryland state competition earlier this month, they were invited to compete at DI Globals in Knoxville, TN NEXT month. As a part of their chosen challenge, the kids researched materials, studied tension, built prototypes, and using only wood and glue, they built a structure weighing only 85 grams that held over 735 pounds - almost 4000 times its weight - without breaking! In addition, they wrote a fun, wacky sketch tying it all together. This team is the only Baltimore City school (public or private) going to DI Globals.
No amount of weight has broken the structure they created, and no amount of adversity has broken their determination to succeed. The Creation Sensations will represent Baltimore City and the state of Maryland competing against domestic and international teams as far away as China and Colombia. We are grateful for any and all support you can provide us--Creation Sensations are invincible!
