The Kindness of Strangers: Feeding Hungry Kids

Our organization is participating in a collaborative social impact campaign that would feed needy and homeless children and families. This campaign, developed and operated by the RTG Group, would generate sustainable funding for our nonprofit. As an organization vested in our youth's future, it was an easy decision to participate.

We are a youth coaching and mentoring organization. Our mission statement is "Coaching and Mentoring the Leaders of Tomorrow."

JLT Fieldhouse conducts one-on-one and group sessions, as well as summer camps, summer leagues and special events. The teaching of life skills through the sport of basketball is our contribution to our community and surrounding communities. Our target age range is kindergarten to 12th-grade boys and girls. In 2020, the Covid pandemic shut down our operation for 11 months, and we are now just getting back to some of our regular programming.

According to a new report, food-insecure households are now more than 50 million, up from 36 million in 2007. And 17 million of those are children. The report defines food insecurity as a state in which "Households struggled to acquire enough food for an active, healthy life for all their members."

The Definition of INSANITY is doing the same thing over and over again and

expecting different results…we must CHANGE our Thinking.
