Help Future Paralympian get to IWAS

Donation protected

My name is Desmond Jackson. I was born with a rare birth defect that resulted in amputation of my left leg. My mobility was uncertain at nine months old but my family's faith was strong. Not only did I walk at one years old, but I also learned to RUN at an early age. With support of my family and friends, I've been competing in track & field since I was 8 years old. I run for many reasons, but most of all to encourage other people. I now compete on my high school indoor & outdoor track team as the first above-knee amputee to ever compete in North Carolina. I also represented the U.S. last year in Puerto Rico where I medaled in the 100m(bronze) and the 400m(gold). Through hard work and determination, I was selected to represent the USA again at the 2014 IWAS World Jr. Games this summer(Aug.2014) in Stokes-Mandeville, England. This is a Jr. National Team but athletes are expected to cover their own expenses. With training, equipment, and trip cost our expenses are roughly $4500. Your donation would help fund this great oppurtunity and allow me to continue training to become a Paralympian. Thanks in advance for reading my story and making a donation!

P.S.- Please check me out at the N.C. State Indoor Championship.
