Help Send Benji to Autism Camp!

Donation protected
Benji Hunnefield, who turned sixteen on April 17, is ready to start learning the skills he's going to need as an adult. Learning everyday skills comes with an extra challenge for Benji, because he has autism.

Dragonfly Forest, a non-profit camp for kids, in West Chester, Pa., is beginning a new "Explorer" program this summer to help kids with autism learn the following skills essential for transitioning to adulthood: Clear communication in a team environment; Independent use of lists and schedules; Sustainable exercise routines; Cooking; Laundry; Basic cleaning; Identifying and responding to directions in different formats (direct verbal, implied verbal, direct written, and implied written); and job interviewing.

In a world where individuals with autism are often discriminated against by employers, Benji's mother is looking to help Benji build up an arsenal of skills that will make him a more productive adult. Benji can't wait to get out into the world and start working!
