Hi there! I am reaching out to my friends, family and acquaintances and anyone whose attention they can get. I am walking through a tough time in my life, and despite my best efforts to see my way through, it is apparent that I NEED HELP. So, I am asking for help with my medical bills. Any little bit helps!
I have a condition called common variable immunodeficiency, or CVID. I have been on SSDI for much of my life, but now I have earned an RN degree and have recently started working at a nursing home, which allows me to give back to my community in a way that I have hoped to do for the longest time! The complete story of how my new job has impacted my benefits is quite complicated but the bottom line as far as I can see right now is that I will need to go six weeks without insurance. My IV treatments, which I must have every 2 weeks in order to live and stay healthy, are extremely expensive at about $11,000 per visit. I recently learned that the state of Washington will cover a big portion of that, so I "only" need about $12,000 to get me through this transition period.
The biggest cost is the medication itself. CVID is a life threatening disease, and I am very thankful there is medication to keep me alive and thriving.
It's not that I am not willing to pay for medical insurance but at one point I was told I would be able to stay on State Insurance during this time, then I was told "no" and then ... well it's complicated. But I will have insurance late in May through my new position as an RN so this is going to be a short term problem.

In the scheme of things this is not horrible as, with a little help, I am going to be able to continue working at the nursing home and making a meaningful contribution to my community. In my world we call these, "bumps in the road," but unfortunately the speed bump got built too high this time for me. This is the reason I am reaching out to as many people as I can for donations to help over this bump.
