Help us purchase a Grand Piano for our space by donating a "key!" Read our story below to learn more!
In 2017, Mitchell High School in Mitchell, SD, will be opening the doors to a brand new, state-of-the-art Performing Arts Center. This facility is complete with a new choir room, band hall, show choir space and 4 classrooms. It will also feature, as it's crowning jewel, a 1200 seat Auditorium with 2 balconies and a black box theater for smaller shows.
Mitchell is a town of 15,000 people in the Eastern portion of South Dakota on I-90. This group and the town as a whole really banded together to get this facility built in the first place - a 15 million dollar price tag was attached and covered by the people and businesses of our amazing town.
To make the building a reality, certain things had to be cut from the initial budget. A grand piano for our new stage was one of those items. There was hope a singular donor could be found, but with our opening now approaching, it is clear we need to think outisde the box. This is where YOU come in!
A piano has 88 keys and we are hoping with keys purchased and donations made, that we can get to our goal by 88 days from now. That will be just in time for us to host our first "outside" event that would use this piano - Large Group Contest on March 30, 2017.
You can donate on the following levels:
$10 - $20: A Half Step Donor
$25 - $50: A Whole Step Donor
$100: Key Donor - After donating, you'll have the opportunity to choose a key!
$500: Pentascale Donor (5 keys)
$800/$1200: Octave Donor (Diatonic = 8 keys, Chromatic =12 keys)
We'd like to raise enough that covers the entire keyboard twice - Help us get to $17,600!
