Emersyn's journey with gastroschisis

Emersyn was born 4 weeks early with severe gastroschisis. Her intestines, liver, spleen, stomach, bladder, ovaries, and uterus all outside her body through a very large defect in her abdomen that will not be closed for months due to lack of tissues and a very small abdomen. doctors are not giving her much hope as she is the most severe case they've seen, but mommy and daddy will fight as long as she does. She was also born with pulmonary hypoplasia (premature lungs that didn't grow properly) which also threatens her life if they can't sustain her breaths as she grows.
Emersyn developed pulmonary hypertension and sepsis and grew her angel wings on May 15th 2014. Donations will go to help pay outstanding medical bills, cremation costs, celebration of life costs, and time off work to grieve.
