Tiffany's PHANtastic Journey to Italy

My name is Tiffany Phan, and I am from Seattle, Washington. I am currently a freshman at Western Washington University, and I play for Chaos, the WWU women's Ultimate team. I started playing Ultimate during my 8th grade year. Initially, it was just a sport I played for fun, and I continued playing it in high school because I enjoyed it. However, during my sophomore year in high school, something changed for me. I noticed Ultimate was a way for me to discover my own aspirations. Through the sport of ultimate I have met wonderful mentors and teammates who have helped me gain the confidence I never thought I had. What inspires me most is not how I play individually but how my play can inspire others around me, as their play and dedication drives me to play at my full potential.

Through Ultimate, not only have I stepped out of my comfort zone but I've also fulfilled my dream. That dream was to travel around the world playing the sport I love. In 2012, with incredible support from family, friends, and the Ultimate community, I traveled to Dublin, Ireland to represent the USA at the World Junior Ultimate Championships. I am truly honored and thankful to have another opportunity to represent the USA this summer with the U19 Women's Ultimate team as we compete in the 2014 World Junior Ultimate Championships in Lecco, Italy.

The only roadblock in the way of living my dream again is money. This summer, I hope to work at local youth Ultimate camps, local tournaments, and maybe my neighborhood food truck to raise money. The total cost for this trip is roughly around $3,300. This includes tournament room, tournament food, player fee, training room and board, training fields/facilities, transportation to/from airports (buses/trains), roundtrip (airfare, bus) from USA to Lecco, Italy, and traveling to the July training camp and home from the northeast.

In order to raise funds, I am offering some options (limited by location):

          - Yard work
          - Babysitting (I'm a baby whisperer)
          - House sitting
          - Pet sitting
          - ANY SITTING - I am very flexible
          - Donate because you are awesome
