Team C.A.T.N.I.P. Global Finals Trip

Please help Team C.A.T.N.I.P. at Carl Hankey K-8 School get to their Destination Imagination Global Finals tournament at the University of Tennessee from May 20-25, 2014! The cost is over $1400 a team member, so we need YOUR help, friends and family!
Destination Imagination is a global, S.T.E.M.-based program that elementary, middle, and high-school teams compete in. The program emphasizes creative problem-solving, critical thinking, and teamwork. Each year, Destination Imagination (DI) releases 5 new "challenges" for their competitions. Team C.A.T.N.I.P. chose the Scientific Challenge this year, for which the team picked an extreme environment and created a problem-solving skit on how to survive in this extreme environment. They have placed in the top three teams at each of their regional and state level tournaments. In addition, each year there are several DI "Instant Challenges" which involve on-the-spot problem-solving right at the tournament. Team C.A.T.N.I.P. received the highest weighted score (100%) on their instant challenges and took first place in the IC at the regional and state level tournaments!

Destination Imagination Global Finals is held at the University of Tennesee each year. Over 1400 teams from around the world are expected to attend this year. C.A.T.N.I.P. is sending 6 of its 7 team members to Global Finals, for a cost of $8400.00, including room and board, airfare, transfers, and the competition itself ($1400 per competitor). Imagine the experience that our team will have at this international competition!
