Mozambique Cyclone- Humanitarian Crisis

It's been 11 days (week of March 15) since the Tropical Cyclone Idai hit east Africa, (hitting Mozambique, Malawi & Zimbabwe) where all infrastructure has been completely been ripped apart and washed away. Although people were aware of the storm coming, no one expected this outcome. Peoples lives pulled apart and destroyed. Children, women and men are still being found and rescued, with a lot more stranded in the waters and for others it has been too late. More than 1,000 bodies have been found dead with more bodies being found by the hour. 1.8 million people have been affected by this catastrophe and the disaster doesn’t stop there. Some of the flooded waters have been tested positive for cholera disease, (this disease will kill someone within hours of ingesting.) The disease is so contagious, medical services are scared everyone inside the camp and shelters will get sick too.
With key roads finally opening up to receive help, they need our help now more than ever. People are left without power, without shelter, without food and without any clean water to drink.
We are a group of individuals in Florida, USA coming together to donate help to those on ground in Africa. We created this fundraising link to collect all possible funds from our contacts, friends and family in our network. The funds collected here will be donated to a Unicef, United Nations Children Agency (501c3) organization, who have direct hands on assistance in Africa now. We will be providing a receipt to all those who donated for the end of the year write offs.
Considering our location and the complicated logistics behind sending physical support we believe financial contributions are the fastest and best way to make the support reach those in need down there.
We can not help hands on, but we can help from a distance. Let’s pray for our humans of this world and spread this word as much as we can.
