Save Brian's Kidney!

Donation protected
My dear brother Brian had a kidney transplant in 2009. His kidneys had failed due to complications from Type I diabetes. This summer, he developed antibodies to his transplanted kidney, causing his own immune system to attack it.
While he is being treated and has a good prognosis for getting several more good years from his kidney, the treatment is very expensive.
In September 2017 he had five rounds of plasmapharesis, and will have a total of 12 intravenous infusions of Immunoglobulin. Additionally, he will need two rounds of chemo to reduce his antibody producing b-cells.
The out of pocket cost for these treatments will be approximately $5000. Worth it, but extremely difficult to cover, especially given the amount of unpaid leave from work he has had to take (2 weeks so far, plus at least another 10 days in the next two months for chemo).
Brian is a good, hard-working man who hasn't been able to catch a break when it comes to his health.
It hurts my heart to see him struggling to deal with the financial burden of his care while trying to deal with his ongoing chronic health battles. I know we all have a lot of demands on our resources, which is why any little bit you would be willing to contribute to his medical expenses would be so helpful and appreciated!!
Any money raised above medical and missed work costs will be donated to the Puget Sound Kidney Centers Foundation and The Road Back To Life (kidney support group).
