Recovery fund for Campos Family

Donation protected
Johelyn Menendez-Campos was born in San Juan, Puerto Rico. She was raised by her mother and has two brothers, one sister and seven young nieces and nephews.  Johelyn Menendez was able to make her way to the United States in 2015, with a plan to find a better way for her son and daughter. She was able to return to Puerto Rico in July 2017 to share the happy event of her marriage with her family. After her short visit, Johelyn, her children and her new husband returned back to Syracuse, NY.
Unfortunately, on September 7, 2017, Hurricane Irma ( A Category 5 Storm) went by Puerto Rico leaving power outages for approximately 1 million people. On September 20, 2017, mother nature hit Puerto Rico again, this time causing much more damage. Hurricane Maria was a category 4 storm which swiped the eastern side of Puerto Rico and caused over 30 billion dollars in property damage. Banana and coffee crops were destroyed along with thousands of housing and businesses. Roads could not be used for safe travel and jobs have been lost and Johelyn's family is struggling to make ends meet. Lack of safe water, food and communication to her family has been diminished.
The electricity could be out anywhere from 10 months to a year.  There are still lines for gas, water, ice and food.
I have worked with Johelyn for 2 years now and she has been doing the best she can to help her family by sending money and supplies.  I'm reaching out in hopes of raising the resources needed for the family of my friend and coworker.  Her mother suffers from arthritis, osteoporosis and high blood pressure.  Without power, the heat is unbearable.  Her siblings have not been able to go back to work due to the storm.  Their funds are almost depleted.
I'm just asking for people to imagine living in this situation for a long period of time and the fear of not being able to provide for your family.
