For Sam's move and adaptation of a home

Sam is an 11 yr old boy who lights up a room with his friendly smile and inviting greetings. At first glance you see his wheelchair and limited physical abilty. After talking to Sam you would never know the everday struggles he goes through because of how happy he acts. Sam was born with Cerebral Palsy and no one was sure if he would ever walk or talk. From the minute he wakes up, to the time he goes to bed he needs help. There are good days and bad days, frustrating moments and moments of pure joy. After school, he spends a few days a week in physical, speech, and occupational therapy at our local Pediatric Rehabilitation facility (Schreiber Pediatrics). Every little goal reached is an amazing step toward Sam eventually being independent. He is such a larger than life kid at the center that they named him one of their Ambassadors for 2013. He traveled around to fundraising events as a face of Schreiber.  Sam has always been willing to do anything he can to give back to his community. We've watched Sam grow from a little boy into a child about to go into middle school. As he gets older and grows, its harder to pick him up, transfer in and out of his wheelchair, into the bathtub, into bed, let alone up and down our steps. He has outgrown our home and it's time to move into a house with less steps and more first floor living. Because of the cost of adaptations, we are probably looking at our next move being the last move for a long time, if not, forever. This is a huge step for us as we need to find a home that will work for Sam and be able to adapt it, let alone suffice for our growing family (he's so excited to be a big brother:)We are asking for your help and support so that we can do everything we can to give Sam the quality of life he deserves.
