WHAT THIS IS ALL ABOUT....
Since the age of 7, Carlos has been a type 1 diabetic and over the years, has struggled with his health. By his early thirties, the disease began taking its toll and in early 2013, Carlos went into kidney failure. His life partner of almost 9 years donated a kidney to save his life and after all these struggles just to live, Carlos continues to have one of the most positive outlooks on life that you will ever encounter. Even with the surmounding medical bills - which continue to grow after his numerous eye and kidney surgeries just in order to live - Carlos remains a light in everyone's life.
Carlos is one of the most selfless people out there. He's kind, he's caring, he's genuine, he's loving---and he would never ask anyone for help on his own.
One person Carlos has always looked up to, and that has helped create his amazingly positive outlook when it comes to life struggles, has been Oprah Winfrey. Her positive affirmation of living happy has kept him cheerful when days seemed at times to be so dim.
If anyone deserves to meet this wonderful person, it's this other, amazingly wonderful person named Carlos Vela... and the opportunity is within reach! Oprah will be in Houston this fall for her Live the Life You Want Tour, and a VIP ticket purchase would not only allow Carlos to attend the conference, but to actually MEET Oprah herself!
