Saving Seniors

Senior Cats often end up in over populated shelters or even euthanasia lists. A large portion for this has to do with people moving, the cost of care, or just simply they are replaced for a younger cat. Recently a group of volunteers have teamed together in order to help give these seniors the forever home they deserve, no matter how long that is. Currently our team has taken on multiple senior diabetic cats and some hospice cases. This go fund me is strictly for their care.
Brooklyn was pulled from a high kill shelter she is a 12 year old diabetic. When we received her we found out she was left behind in an apartment when her owners moved out. She was then rushed to the vet for not eating and high blood sugar. When she got there it was found out that her blood sugar level was 534, which is extremely high. We also discovered she was extremely malnourished (under 5 pounds) and has muscle atrophy and nerve damage from her diabetes being untreated. Now receiving medical care, she has gained weight, has blood sugar in the normal range, and has even gained some muscle mass.
Hagrid is listed in the picture above he is a 16 year old male with diabetes who was left at the shelter due to his owners not being able to provide care. His owner left him there in the hopes that he would receive love and care, but instead ended up on a euthanasia list. We pulled him with less then 30 minutes to spare. When picking him up he was then rushed to a vet in which he had to stay 3 days due to how dehydrated he was. He has now perked up and enjoys his time in the cat tree watching the birds and talking to his foster parents and foster siblings.
Sterling is one of the newest ones pulled from a high kill shelter. He is 16 years old and was surrendered due to his owners moving (they had him since a baby) He has no teeth and a few lumps and bumps, but enjoys cuddles and to walk on a leash.
