A message from Amanda, Delaney's Mom...
Hi everyone, this is so hard for my family and I but my life long friend Brittany (King) Kidd gave me no choice; she was doing it with or with out me. (Editor's Note: I can be bossy!)
There are 4 of us in our little family, Matt who is my husband and who we refer to as the "King." There's Dominick, our son, who is 9 years old and has a heart as big as this world. Then there's Delaney who is 5 years old who thinks she's the Boss, but she's not! Then there's me who just keeps it all going!
This is our Story, Delaney was diagnosed just about 3 years ago with a blood disorder called Von Willebrand's Brand's. That's where it all started, shortly after that, Delaney was sick a lot! I knew as a mother something just wasn't right! I would watch her sleep at night and know in my stomach I had to keep fighting. The last year has been brutal to say the least. We have seen 9 doctors and are on are way to Washington DC to see number 10. We are FIGHTERS, and we will NEVER give up. Doctor number 9 finally diagnosed her with something called Natural Killer Cell Deficiency. I could write for days about what she has been through in a year and let me tell you, most adults couldn't handle it let alone our little/big 5 year old girl. At 36 pounds wet, she certainly is the Strongest and Bravest Person I will ever meet in my Life. As we drive to DC, I know God only gives you what you can handle so I haven't asked "WHY?" this has happened to our family. I believe you're only given what you can handle. I sure hope this doctor can handle a STRONG FAMILY ready to take on the World, because I can tell you this, we will not go down with out a Fight...
As I always tell my kids, I make stuff happen everyday of my LIFE and that's what I intend to do In Washington DC!!!
