Charley's Kickin Canine Cancer

Charley is our beautiful, energetic, and amazingly goofy 3 year old Boykin grandpup. She was brought into our life when our son, Bobby bought her for his now wife Sarah in January 2011. Charley's love for long car rides, her mommy & daddy, tennis balls, and her brothers: Cooper and Carlos (also Boykin spaniels) is enough to put a smile on anyone's face. Charley and Cooper had a litter of puppies in June 2012 and blessed my husband and I with two Girlkins: Edisto and Cricket. They have brought so much love to us that we could never thank Charley enough. Charley started showing some chronic digestive issues in February of this year. After weeks of vet and specialist appointments, with over $1,000 in bills to kick it off we recieved some gut-wretching news: CANCER. Charley was diagnosed with Large-cell Lymphoma of her small intestine and lymph nodes and is set to start chemotherapy this week. As many people know, cancer is devistating news and is extremely costly. How could our Char be diagnosed with such an awful diasease at just 3 years old? Bobby and Sarah will do anything to ensure that Charley lives the happiest life possible for however long we are blessed to have her with us. Every dog in our family and extended family of friends even have dog tags with Team Char Char on them! We're hoping that Charley's story can touch people and can contribute to Char Kickin canine cancers butt!!! Any donations that are made will go directly to Charley's vet and specialist visits and chemo costs that will hopefully ease Bobby and Sarah's minds and wallets. Any family with a dog can understand the love they can bring to a family and how devasting it can be to loose them. We will be posting Char's story and pictures throughout her fight with cancer.
