"Producing The Major" - WWII WAAC Major

Hoping to self-publish the amazing American story of WWII WAAC Major: Maj. Frances Ann Towson, USA (Ret.). Simon & Schuster (Archway) will publish my book, in October 2014, if I can reach my GOAL in the next few months! Fran was a true trail-blazer and was quickly promoted through the ranks from Enlisted to Officer during WWII. Fran's incredible life's adventures will be a source of inspiration to ALL for future generations to come!
Maj. Fran Towson died the same day she was scheduled to be videotaped to record ALL of her WWII life adventures - for The Library of Congress' "Veterans History Project." Fran knew General Patton and directly served under General Eisenhower. Fran was stationed in both Occupied Germany and Japan twice (each). And, Fran also proudly served for two weeks as a Staff Officer during The Nuremburg (Nazi) Trials.
Fran had aided me in achieving my life goal of becoming a "Producer" (Hexagon 2006/2007). Fran had acted as my theatrical agent and gently guided me from Cast Member, to Assistant Producer, and then to believe in my abilities to "run" and "win" the role as VP for Production. Fran was terribly proud of my success! Then when she was turning 90, Fran had asked me to "produce" her 90th Birthday Party at The Army/Navy Country Club. For more information:

I was introduced to Major Fran Towson, back in 2003 at my Navy Retirement Ceremony, at The Women's Memorial on the grounds of Arlington National Cemetery. Having much in common as veterans (seperated by 40 years) over the last ten years of her life Fran had shared many of her adventures, life struggles and hopes and dreams. She wanted to share her stories with the world!
Fran Towson volunteered as a "Friend" to The Kennedy Center for over 41 years. She was one of the first 100 volunteers before the building even opened giving private "Hardhat Tours" to those early interested patrons and donors. Fran was the first volunteer to work on "The Kennedy Center Honors" Program and wrote the How-To-Manual for all of the future Volunteer Chair Persons that proceeded after she stepped down. Brooks Benke (Director of the "Friends of The Kennedy Center") once spoke of Fran Towson and said, "I think she built the place!"
After battling colon cancer, at 91, Fran was involved in a car accident and was hospitalized for the last 35 days of her life. She died peacefully surrounded by both family and friends on September 20th, 2012. Her Catholic faith gave her strength and she had requested all visitors pray with her after placing a blessed St. Jude medallion in her closed hands. What an amazing Christian woman walking in faith throughout her life!
She had tales to tell! Her friends and family have now asked me to become "her voice" to tell her compelling story.
