Dear friends,
This is an initiative to help raise funds to pay off outstanding school arrears for one of my close family friends, Mercy, back home in Kenya.
I have known Mercy for a couple of years and she is an intelligent, hardworking young lady. She comes from a very poor background scarred with domestic violence from her alcoholic father. Recently, their father forcibly ejected them from their home and now they live with their maternal grandparents. She is the second born in a family of seven and as such she stands as the pillar of hope for her younger siblings. However, her education at the renowned Loreto Girls' High School has since been discontinued due to outstanding fees arrears forcing the school to send her home until they are cleared off. The meagre government bursaries and funds raised by her local community have been insufficient to cover for the increasing cost of education in Kenya.
Her determination to succeed has inspired me to work on this initiative to raise $2000 to help pay off the arrears and go back to school for the remaining two years.Any help will be greatly appreciated whether it's sharing this message or making an actual contribution. No amount is trivial. Any amount will go a long way in helping Mercy.
