Jamie Palet's Aneurysm Fund

On December 15th, 2012; My mom, Jamie's, day started as usual. Got up with my dad, got a cup of coffee, and was watching Tv. She didn't feel like she had gotten enough sleep and went to lay back down. When she was trying to get comfortable, she rolled over and could feel her head just started throbbing. She was trying to sleep but it just got to her more and my dad went down to just see how she was doing and she asked him to call an ambulance. Right then and there he knew it wasn't a simple head ache. She had never been in an ambulance or asked to call for one. When she had gotten to the hospital and received a CAT Scan. They had said there's good news, but there's bad news. Bad news was that she had had a ruptured aneurysm that caused a hemorrhagic stroke. Good news was, she had beaten the 40% odds of not surviving within the first five minutes.

My mom had went in over a year later to get her angiogram to check on her coiled aneurysm. (She should have received one at six months, but it took over a year and many visits to neurologists to get approved for any insurance. The angiogram was set to be over $20,000 and the hospital wanted my mom to get approved for insurance before hand, pretty ridiculous if you ask me.) Since it was over a year for looking into the aneurysm; they did a full head angiogram (instead of looking only by the coil). They had found one new aneurysm near the center of her brain, and one forming off of the older aneurysm, which caused that one to form to a big aneurysm. On March 11th of this year, Jamie's journey was set on a new track because she had to have Open Brain Surgery.

My mom had Open Brain Surgery Wednesday, April 2nd. She is doing fine right now. Going to be in the hospital for about a week to a week in a half more. We still have many bills from the first time she was in the hospital. Insurance hasn't been able to cover everything. The medical deductible is $8,000. every 6 months. My dad works as much as he can, because my mom was considered disabled and hasn't been able to work. She filed for disability, but she got denied three times. What we are asking for is just a start to help pay bills from the first time and the ones we have from this one.

This fund is to help make it so my dad, Terry, can be by her side as much as possible during recovery. We're asking for a little help, my family is strong but this is a tough and emotional time for us. This will be one less stress for my mom to worry because she is so concerned with money and that is one last thing she needs to worry about right now. My mom just wants to type some things for you to read.

Here are a few words from my first surgery and stay: "the fact that i am here at all to celebrate this new year with my wonderful and most supportive husband, children, family and great friends, is to me a message from up above (and everyone that knows me knows i am not the religious type). so i am going to go with the dreams i had in icu. grandma wanted a visit but didn't want me to stay so she sent me back to my family and friends to do the best job that i can do, so i will fight to get back to me. i will work hard to get my mind where it once was and i will not sweat the small stuff and dwell on the past, i will not make my self available to those that do not deserve me and i will always tell my family and friends i love them every time i  think of them.... second chances are rare and not always there, i got one and i will do good things with it i will not waste this one and i now have a new birthday dec. 15th, 2012 ... love to all and again thanks to all those who prayed and those who helped me through this you know who you are and you are all loved deeply!! i got great news this week i will be going home soon its going to be a long road to recovery and a struggle but i am obviously a fighter because i am still here so i say challenge accepted!!!!!"

She still has many struggles and a long way ahead.
Please help my beautiful, strong mother and our family overcome another obstacle in our lives. Thank you so much for your time and consideration.
