Shelley's Medical Fund

My best friend, Shelley, will be getting surgery to get her kidney taken out in the beginning of December.
She is a single mother of 9 who waits tables at Brophy Bros in Santa Barbara and is the hardest working person I know.
With no child support and not being able to work, I hope this fundraiser can help support her and her children.

This kidney surgery is a result of a minor congenital defect that was supposed to be a "in and out" quick fix. Instead, there were serious complications and subsequent infections that landed her in and out of the hospital for three more surgeries.
This all led to the kidney that was fully functioning in the beginning, to stop functioning completely.
For one year the post op kidney tried to function but made Shelley feel sick, fatigued and ache in pain. While still continuing to work in pain, she then went to a specialist at UCLA who thought he may be able to salvage the kidney, but many tests later, it made more sense to just remove the kidney entirely.
