7year old Deshawn needs an urgent Heart Transplant

Deshawn is 7 years old and suffers from a heart condition called Hypoplastic Left Heart Syndrome (HLHS). He is a very loving, kind and special child with a great sense of humour! He is the best big brother, son, nephew, grandson, school friend... the list goes on. Everyone who meets Deshawn knows that he is very special.

Deshawn has a pacemaker but unfortunately, during these winter months, Deshawn caught a virus which subsequently attacked his immune system. As a result, Deshawn's heart is failing and he is now in desperate need of a HEART TRANSPLANT in order to save his life. He is in a critical condition and is being cared for by specialists at Great Ormond Street Hospital, London, UK.

As you can appreciate, this is a very difficult and critical time for Deshawn's parents and family. We want to do everything that we possibly can to help save his life.

(Hypoplastic Left Heart Syndrome is a condition where the left lower pumping chamber (left ventricle) of the heart does not develop properly and is much smaller than usual. In a normal heart , the heart's left side has the job of pumping oxygenated blood into the aorta, the large artery that carries blood to the body. The mitral valve between the left ventricle and the upper left filling chamber (left atrium) is often closed or very small).
