I know you read from time to time others that need help through this site. I myself give to a lot of them. Ive never been the one asking for help. Im always the one to call when others need help. Unfortunatly, Its finally time that I ask for HELP, I just can't do it myself, so please take a moment to read my story below. Any help at all is cherished. Thank You - Jared
I am in need of a Heart Transplant, and before I qualify, I must get my diabetes under control. Since the age of 1, I have been a juvenile Diabetic. At age 30 I lost my Kidneys and had a Quadruple Bypass after my Heart Attack. I was blessed to receive a transplant, but with that gift my Diabetes has raged out of control. I NEED HELP!! I am looking to purchase a Diabetic Alert Dog to help stop the lows and highs of my blood sugar levels, so I will qualify for a new heart. Its so hard to be able to admit you need help, but after many prayers, I understand a Diabetic Alert Dog (DAD) will not only help me get my blood sugars under control, it will probably save my life. I owe it to my twin boys to be here for the pitfalls of life. I appreciate your support more than you know.
My Heart is stable right now, but each year my heart function decreases. My cardiologist urges me each visit that I must get my diabetes under control first. I do all the right things from exercising to eating healthy. However, due to my Hypoglycemia Unawareness, I can no longer tell when my sugars go too low. In the recent months, I have risen in the morning only to find EMT workers at my bedside trying to control my sezeiure and bring me back to normal. This causes many problems. The most damaging is the damage to my already weakened heart. My Diabetic Alert Dog is trained by my scent to alert me when my blood sugar starts to go low, thus allowing me time to eat some glucose and prevent such a violent event.
I really want to thank my supportive family and friends for always being there to help me in my time of need. Wheather its someone to talk to or simply listen to me vent. I want to say THANK YOU from the bottom of my heart.
