Support the O'Brien Family

The goal is now $25,000. I wasn't sure if we should continue to increase it but when I asked a coordinator of this site, he suggested to continue raising it for the duration of the page. He said they often get questions as to if donors can still donate if the goal has already been met. The answer is yes but often, people assume they can't, and then won't. So, increase we will!! Baby Declan was undergoing his second surgery this morning. Keep praying that he stays strong and continues fighting a brave, brave battle. Also, be praying for strength and calmness for Amber and Matt and wisdom, courage, and strength for those amazing doctors who are giving Declan everything he needs!!

This page is for the O'Brien family: Matt, Amber, their daughter and their newborn son, Declan. Via ultrasound, their son was diagnosed with a very rare brain malformation, called Vein of Galen, which impacts both brain and heart. This required baby Declan to be delivered early and undergo surgery very quickly. He will likely have many more surgeries over the next few days/months/years. Many of Amber and Matt's (a.k.a "Shrubs" as he's known to many of us) friends, family, and supporters have been wondering how they can help. We decided to set this page up as a way to feel that we can contribute during a very trying and difficult time for this family. In addition to contributing financially, continued prayers are a very real way to keep helping this family...at different times in our lives, we've all been witness to the power of prayer!!
