Friends and family,
My brother, Mike and his family suffered a tremendous loss this week when Hurricane Michael battered the Florida panhandle and demolished his home.
Thankfully, he and Misty took the kids and her mother to safety in Auburn, Alabama to wait out the storm.
Mike was allowed to go back in this morning (Friday 10-12) to assess the damage. The roof has been ripped off the house with extensive damage throughout.
There will be no electricity for 2-3 months. Cell service is poor to non existent. He has no immediate family near to assist with the cleanup.
He will start today sifting through the debris today. Hopefully, he can obtain assistance from the insurance company to get a tarp on the roof as soon as possible.
Most likely, he and Misty will live in the home as they try to put their lives and belongings back together. Misty took the 3 children and her mother to Tennessee to stay with relatives.
In the meantime, they will need money for basic supplies such as food and water, gas for their vehicles , generators, and chainsaws. Their hurricane insurance has a $4000 deductible. I’m sure there are so many other things that they have not even thought of at this time.
Mike and Misty have recently taken in Misty’s 2 great nieces and great nephew to raise. Misty’s mother also lives in the home and has had extensive illnesses they have tended. I say all of this to say, Mike and Misty have given so much to others and have never asked for assistance. They are not asking for help now......I am asking for them.
Would you consider giving any amount? I know that if we all gave a small amount the results would be incredible.
Ever so grateful,
Justin & Michele
