Chadventure: Onward and Upward

Sometimes, we find ourselves at the bottom of the barrel. Circumstances outside of our control continue to crash into us reminding us that we are indeed fragile creatures. Finances, health, belongings...everything can change in an instant...and sometimes not for the better. This is that barrel year for me. This is the year that my optimism shook, as I took hits from all sides (parents in surgery, an unpredictable ER visit for me, loss of all of my possessions in my friend's car that was stolen, no insurance to cover the medical expenses, insurance company not paying for loss of property).

I am a trooper, though...although not a Storm one...and I know that I can get through these setbacks. I've even been told by some people that these adventures will make a great one-man-show. I know, however, at this time that I cannot climb out of the barrel alone.

Any generous gifts given will be used to offset medical costs and help me re-build my spartan possessions. I would also like the option of traveling to Texas to help my parents recover and heal after my father's upcoming open-heart surgery. 

2014 has the potential to be a better year for me. I am still optimistic, just somewhat myopic...and I am committed to moving onward and upward. While eating a slice of humble pie.
