He was diagnosed, end of June/beginning of July 2013, with Non-Hodgin's Lymphoma. (blood cancer that starts in lymph nodes-large carcinoma) Two weeks after his father, Ronnie Collins, passed from lung cancer. Since then he has been battling what at first seemed to be a short battle given 95% chances of living. He did 6 chemo treatments starting out. November was his last treatment of that. In December he was put into remission where we thought everything was going to be ok. After tests and a check up- come to find out- he had actually progressed and the chances dropped down to 50%. Overwhelmed, he decided to push forward with more chemo and the doctors talked about a stem cell transplant in the near future if chemo worked. Since January- he has been through many alternatives given. Including: extensive and strong 5 days 24/7 hour chemo days; other days just a couple days or one even; they have tried at least 3 different ones. Apparently it shrunk some but overall, it seems the chemo just fed his cancer and made it spread. After many trips back and forth to Newnan GA, 3 1/2 hour trip- he is finally settled in here in serious conditions. He has come home a few times since January, all not being enough. He was still in pain and could not get any relief.
As of right now- he's inpatient at the Cancer Treatment Centers of America. Between his family and friends- we've been alternating weekends and coming up during the week when we can. We have all been exhausting vacation time and leave of absence. We feel being here is most important right now at this critical time. We started this fund by request from family and friends so that they can help financially. We are all proud people and don't feel needy. But we wanted to try everything we could to support him the best we could. This money would go for bills, transportation, hospitality, food, anything that would help him and those who are staying here with him to support him. We appreciate all the prayers, thoughts and concerns that we've received. There is an outpour of love for Kevin and words can't begin to express how much we appreciate that.

God is in control! Regardless what his chances are and what doctors say- we will hope in the Lord to deliver.
"For I know the plans I have for you," declares the Lord, "plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future"
- Jeremiah 29:11
"The Lord is my shepherd; I shall not want. He makes me lie down in green pastures. He leads me beside still waters. He restores my soul. He leads me in paths of righteousness for his name's sake. Even though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil, for you are with me; your rod and your staff, they comfort me. You prepare a table before me in the presence of my enemies; you anoint my head with oil; my cup overflows."
- Psalm 23:1-6
"But they that wait upon the LORD shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings as eagles; they shall run, and not be weary; and they shall walk, and not faint."
= Isaiah 40:31
