Get Lindsay a Strikeforce Wheelchair

Hi, my name is Lindsay Muench, I am 17 years old. At the age of 9 months, I was diagnosed with a life threatening disease called SMA (Spinal Muscular Atrophy) Type 2. SMA is the leading cause of genetic death in infants and toddlers. The doctors told my parents that I wouldn't live past the age of two because of this disease.
Throughout my whole life, I haven't let the disease get the best of me. I try to participate in everything that I can do to keep me happy and active. Three years ago I was introduced by a friend to an adpative sport called Wheelchair Power Soccer. Unlike some of the other adaptive sports that I was in, this was the first time that it would be a competitive sport! I now play for the Madison Marauders team, which is based out of Madison, Wisconsin. We go to tournaments in Minnesota, Wisconsin, and Missouri all year long.
When I am on the court, I get the adrenaline rush of the game and feel very happy. I grew up in a very competitive family and I am as competitive as they are if not more. People say that I turn into a whole different person when I am on the court. I love feeling that I can play a sport that able body people can do.
Three years ago, we purchased a Quickie wheelchair. At the time, those chairs were the best for wheelchair power soccer. Now, the Strikeforce Power Soccer Wheelchair is the best chair for the sport because of safety and maneuverability.
Just like a lot of other adaptive equipment, this is not a cheap investment. The Strikeforce Chairs start at a flat rate of $7,700 without customization. I believe my chair will cost around $9000 with the modifications needed for me to play. If you would please donate to help me continue my dream, I would be very appreciative.
