Jim and Carrie met in high school and began their romance shortly after graduating. Carrie was first diagnosed with a brain tumor at age 20. In spite of losing most of her vision after her first surgery, Carrie went on to marry Jim, finish physical therapy school, and raise two children. She became a successful physical therapist and manager, as well as devoted wife and mother. She continued to battle her cancer and endured five craniotomies, as well as a complex lung surgery. The final surgery resulted in a serious brain infection, and subsequently a stroke; Carrie was unable to work for the last one and a half years of her life. For the last 7 months, her family, including son Zach, 17, daughter Danielle, 20, (who returned home from college after Carrie's last surgery), and loving husband Jim have provided Carrie with round-the-clock care in order to keep her at home. Carrie passed away on March 24th, with Jim, Danielle, and Zach at her side. Contributions from this fund will be used to assist Carrie's family with funeral expenses and medical bills.
