Harvey Relief Funds

Tax deductible

Many of those that know me know 2 things:
1. My heart will always be in Texas
2. I would do anything I can to help animals in need.

Today and for the past 5 days, my heart has been extremely heavy thinking, praying and worrying about my loved ones and of course the innocent animals that are helpless in all of this disaster. I am sick with sadness that I cannot be there in person to help. So I thought how can I help from NY?  I am wanting to raise $2000 to send to the Houston SPCA and I am going to match $1000 of my own to send to local rescues on the ground there in TX (Corpus and Houston) that need the funds desperately.

It is estimated that 250,000 animals have been displaced due to the flooding. Many animals are being flown to rescues in other states and cities. It costs so much for rescues to just rescue locally, but to help animals on a national level needing emergency vetting and housing is even more difficult.

There are other ways to help too!

1. If you can open your home to a displaced animal to foster, I promise you will be doing more good for your soul than you could ever imagine.
**If you live within 4 hrs of NYC and can take in a texas dog, please fill out an application at : Nycsecondchancerescue.org
**If you live within 4 hrs of Dallas Ft Worth, please fill out an application to foster at: Dallasdogrrrr.org

2. If you have any crates/kennels, dog food, blankets, dog beds, toys, bones, cat food, cat litter, please donate these to the rescues listed above if you are close to there, or to your local shelter or rescues; especially if you are in Houston.

Any amount is helpful. And if donations in monetary form isn't possible at this time, that is OK too.  I ask that simply taking a moment to make a silent prayer for everyone (2 legged and 4 legged) that are suffering or a silent special intention of positive energy and thoughts. And acts of kindness to those in need around you works too. Because in times of disaster and devastation, we all could use extra kindness around us. Its contagious. Thank you for anything you can offer!
