Rehabilitation for our grandma

I'm Margarita Arcila, and together with my family we would like to ask for your help to save my grandma's life.

My grandma Alicia lives in Sugar Land, Texas with my aunt and uncle and she has been battling with rheumatoid arthritis since she was 45 years old. She has had to use a wheelchair for years and has had difficulties walking and doing everyday activities because of it.

She is now 81 and in August this year she had to be taken to the hospital because of heart failure, arterial hypertension, and pulmonary fibrosis. She had to get a pacemaker and she needs to wear oxygen permanently.

After one visit to the hospital, she got clostridium difficile, an infection that complicated her recovery. 

Since then she has had to go back to the hospital multiple times for different complications, so the doctors said that she can't be at home anymore for the recovery, that she should be treated in a skilled nursing care facility.

There she can get the proper care needed for her recovery and help her regain her mobility; she has been confined to beds without being able to walk or move around for about 4 months.

Here is where we need your help. The skilled nursing care facility costs $157 per day ($4710 per month) and my family can't afford this. 

She's in the hospital right now, and she needs to be taken to this facility as soon as possible. The amount that we're asking for corresponds for 2 months of care in the facility. 

Your help means the world to us, because it would enable the opportunity for my grandma to be taken care of by experienced staff, which in the end means saving her life.

Soy Margarita Arcila, y junto con mi familia queremos pedir su ayuda para salvar la vida de nuestra abuela. 

Mi abuela Alicia vive en Sugar Land, Texas con mis tíos
y ha tenido artritis reumatoidea desde los 45 años. Ella ha tenido que usar silla de ruedas por muchos años y ha tenido dificultad para caminar y tener una vida normal por su enfermedad.

Ahora ella tiene 81 años y la tuvieron que llevar al hospital por falla cardiaca, hipertensión arterial y fibrosis pulmonar. Le tuvieron que poner un marcapasos y necesita tener oxígeno permanentemente.

Después de una visita al hospital, le dio clostridium difficile, una infección que complicó su recuperación.

Desde entonces ella ha tenido que volver al hospital en múltiples ocasiones por diferentes complicaciones. Por eso los doctores dijeron que ya no puede estar más en casa, que tiene que ser tratada en un establecimiento de atención de enfermería especializada.

Allí le pueden dar el cuidado adecuado para su recuperación y ayudarla a recuperar la moviliad de su cuerpo. Ella ha estado en cama sin poder caminar o moverse por cerca de 4 meses.

Aquí es donde necesitamos su ayuda. El establecimiento de atención de enfermería especializada cuesta $157 dólares por día ($4710 por mes) y mi familia no puede pagar esa suma.

Ahora mi abuela está en el hospital y necesita ir al establecimiento lo más pronto posible. La suma de dinero que necesitamos corresponde a 2 meses de cuidado en el establecimiento.

Su ayuda significa mucho para nosotros, porque le da la posibilidad a mi auela de ser atendida por gente con experiencia, que al final salvará su vida.
