NTX Tarheels Elite -6th Grade Boys

North Texas Tarheels Elite is a non-profit 501(c)3 basketball organization founded in 2011. Our sole source of income is donations and parent paid fees. Currently we are running a fundraiser to assist in getting the team to Hampton, Va to play in the AAU National tournament. The kids have had an opportunity to play in this tournament in previous years where they finished 12th out of approximately 50 teams from all states.
Our organization is not all about sports. We also mentor and tutor youth boys and girls during the school year. During the summer months we encourage kids to keep up with reading and math so that their skills are advanced for the next school year. Just like the school system we enforce "no pass-no play" so that all kids understand the importance of education. As we all know basketball is a dream for many of our youth, however, not all of them will make it, so we want them to be prepared and equipped for life.
Our coaching staff is also heavily involved in the kids and stress the importance of higher learning. Many are school teachers. Some have kids who are currently playing in colleges across the states such as University of Connecticut. By participating in AAU sanctioned tournaments, players are exposed to college recruits, which can open the door for scholarships.
As friends and family to many of the players, we are asking that you find it in your heart to donate to these kids and help keep the youth active in something they love and off of the streets.
