Hey Friends!
As most of you know, I'm currently a graduate student at Georgia Tech obtaining a degree in City & Regional Planning. For those of you scratching your heads as to what that is, it basically means that I get to research innovative ideas on how to improve cities, towns, and regions in a way that will raise the quality of life of the people that live within them. So in a few short years I'll be working to help decongest your horrid morning commute, or increase your affordable housing options, or maybe even set the framework for that cool walkable neighborhood you've wanted to live in. Awesome right?!
Do you know what else is awesome? I've been selected to continue my research in a city that has already made tremendous progress on the issues mentioned above. Curitiba, located in southern Brazil, is a place known for its innovative planning activity. The city has managed to provide solutions for some of the most vicious problems plaguing our world today. This summer I'll hopefully have the opportunity to study along side some of the world's top professors and come back with practical take-aways to help places like your own.
To make that happen, I must first raise enough funds to get there. I'm a smart guy and I have some funding through scholarships, but that only goes so far. I need a little extra help to cover airfare, meals, and other miscellaneous items to make the trip turn into a reality. This is the part where you come in. I'm asking for any type of monetary donation to help cover these costs...any amount is enough. If you're the business type, consider it an investment. One day you'll be walking your dog in a new master-planned community and will have me to thank!
But seriously, help fund an opportunity of a lifetime. I will forever be thankful and will appreciate all of the well wishes, good intentions, and love that comes my way.
